The Wake up And Support Others organization (WASO) is a non-profit and Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that primarily advocates for community access to health services.
At present, WASO is implementing USAID-funded HIV/AIDS Prevention Program for Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVP) in Dar Es Salaam. Under this program the organisation seeks to contribute to the improved health status of the community through a sustainable reduction in new HIV infections in support of the government’s commitment to HIV prevention. The program utilizes new and enhances existing, vulnerable-tailored, high-quality combination HIV prevention; Positive Health, Dignity and Prevention (PHDP); and Family Planning (FP) services for KVP.
In order to improve positive behaviors and social norms at the individual and community levels, as well as strengthen support for positive gender norms and behaviors within communities to reduce new HIV transmission, WASO hereby advertises two vacant positions of
Assistant Program Officer-Social Behavior Change and Communication(SBCC)
The general roles of the position holder will be to coordinate, supervise and manage field interventions conducted by Community Based Health Service (CBHS) providers and report on deliverables. Also, s/he will play a liaison role between local community leadership, Municipal authority, Police Gender Desk and the Organisation on course of program implementation in various trainings, workshops and meetings.
The candidate should possess a minimum qualification of Bachelor degree in Social Work, Community Development, Project Management, or Public Health with a minimum of one year experience in KVP interventions in an NGO setting.
Accountant
The major roles will be to provide support to the Finance and Admin Officer that may include but not limited to ensuring compliance with all applicable internal controls and USAID financial management policies and procedures, Budget tracking, Planning and preparing annual budget, general ledger account, Recording fixed asset register, Ensuring all project expenditures are reasonable, allocable, allowable and has supporting documents etc
The candidate has to have at least a Bachelor degree in Accountancy and or Finance with a minimum experience of two years in an NGO setting.
