CARE began working in Tanzania in April 1994, in response to the crisis in Rwanda and the subsequent influx of refugees into the Kagera Region of North-western Tanzania. Over the ensuing years, CARE Tanzania has developed innovative education, health, microfinance, and environmental programs across most regions of the country.
Qualification:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business Management or equivalent with 7 to 10 years as Finance Controller or Finance Manager in a Country Office environment. More importantly, they should have thorough knowledge of financial and accounting policies and procedures, demonstrate solid accounting systems experience and thorough understanding of - financial accounting, reporting, grants and contract management processes and experience with major audits (e.g. USAID, EU etc.).
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt to local practices and global standards
Strong business partnering skills with ability to influence CO senior staff, ability to work in teams, work at detailed level and understand the larger picture
Attention to details, ability to work effectively under pressure
Proactive individual with ability to offer structured guidance
