The host institutions of the scholarships are Berlin School of Mind & Brain and DAAD. It is located in Berlin, Germany. It is a multinational graduate research school founded in 2006. The scholarships program is designed in order to select the scholars based on their profile and interest. For your information, you can obtain a three-year program for a fully-funded scholarship, research or teaching post. The candidates must submit their application before the closing date on January 15, 2018. It looks for candidates who want to catch up their doctoral degree level.
You should know that the international DAAD Scholarships for doctoral degree students select the best proposal for a doctoral project from the best applicants. Of course, the proposal must have clear mind or brain relevance. In other words, it must relate with the humanities and/or behavioural sciences with the neurosciences. In details, here are the research topics that you can select as your proposal as follow:
- Perception, attention, and consciousness
- Decision-making
- Language
- Brain plasticity and lifespan ontogeny
- Brain disorders and mental dysfunction
- Human sociality and the brain (social cognition)
The benefit of the scholarship is to provide 1,350 euro per month as well as funding for travel and training course for the successful candidates. There are about seven scholarships that you can compete with other competitors.
Eligibility Criteria
The international DAAD Scholarships for doctoral degree students are open for international students. But, you must meet all of these requirements firstly as follow:

- Master’s degree (with thesis, usually two years)

If you aren’t a native English speaker, please provide your application by including these kinds of test scores as follow:
- UNIcert® II Certificate: 3,0
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 5,0
- Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE): B-C
- TOEFL: o Internet-based Test: 87, o Paper-based Test: 560
- DAAD Language Certificate: C in all test sections (minimum requirement)
How to Apply
Please be admitted by the School’s Scientific Council before you submit the online application process of the international DAAD Scholarships for doctoral degree students on this following link. You must provide your application with these following conditions as follow:

- The max. individual size of files: 5 MB
Don’t miss the closing date on January 15, 2018 because the board won’t select late application. This is the most important thing that you must understand.
